We have recently entered the Astrological sign of Gemini, the Twins. For my definition of what a sign is and an exercise in how to develop an ‘archetypal eye’, please see the entry on Aries .

Mercury, Messenger of the gods, rules Gemini
Exercise Update: ‘Developing Your Archetypal Eye’.
If you have been trying out the exercise, I would, as always, be interested to hear of what you discovered this month.
Things seemed to move slowy but steadily for me this month, requiring a great deal of patience but ending with solid results. I also found myself spending much time (probably too much time) within my comfort zone. As we entered into the sign of Gemini I shared a journey with two tiny Great Tits. They walked beside me in the undergrowth having presumably just left their nest for the first time. This was my sign.
In Gemini we should find a new active cycle beginning, especially in the social sphere, with communication and travel becoming central themes for the next month. Depending on our astrological make-up we may either find ourselves irritated by intrusions from others or finally liberated from a period of stagnation as the solid element of Earth is gradually replaced by Air. Things will seem to speed up and lighten up as the month progresses, butterflys and bees should become more visible in the northern hemisphere. Venus’s rulership is superceded by Gemini in his outwards-facing mode and our impulses will turn towards adventure and exploration, meeting new people and sharing ideas.
Try keeping a journal again this month, paying attention again to the change in element (earth to air) which will equate to obstruction to liberation, stability to flexibility, forms to ideas, and the change in quality (fixed to mutable), evidenced by a movement from conservatism to experimentation and passive acceptance to argumentativeness.
The Attributes of Gemini

The sigil of Gemini. Created by SeLarin and released under GFDL Licence
Gemini is one of two signs ruled by Mercury (the other being Virgo) and is said to represent his air aspect (Virgo is more practical and turns the analytical mind inwards). Gemini is the adaptable Mercury, the communicator bringing messages to and from the gods. He is contrary, evasive and elusive, hence always appears to be two instead of one.
Gemini is a mutable sign. The mutable signs are mobile, never still, and this quality is exagerrated in the active signs (Gemini and Sagittarius). The sigil represents both twins and the Roman numeral II, symbolising the dual nature of the sign.
Gemini is related to the principles of adaptability, verbosity, versatility, restlessness, inquisitiveness, changeability and mental agility. It is the sign of the agent, the traveller, the journalist. The negative side of these qualities include superficiality, dissipation, duplicity, inconsistancy, anxiety and manipulative behaviour.
Physiologically Gemini relates to the respiratory system, the nervous system, the upper limbs and (by reflex with Sagittarius), the hips and sciatic nerves. Gemini also relates to small birds, trains, winged insects, salespeople, secretaries and monkeys.
Gemini relates to yellow and the experience of colour in general, agate and, of course, the metal mercury.

I am a Gemini. my bithday falls on the 11. I would like to know more on this number along with being a Gemini.
I am trying to find my astrological chart. I know I was born on a Saturday. I would like some feedback.
Thank You Very Much. I live only the positive attributes of a Gemini.
Hello & thanks for visiting.
Although I am not overly experienced with numerology I believe that the number 11 (and 22) are so-called master numbers. They do not reduce as in the other double digit numbers (e.g. 13 = 1+3 = 4) but they represent a more intense version of the reduced number (i.e 11 is an intense form of 2). Now, I know that the number 2 represents duality in all it’s forms and (interestingly enough) so does Gemini (look at the icon). So, although sun sign astrology is only very general I would suggest you would be adept at seeing both sides of a situation and coming to quick, rational decisions. In fact, speed and adaptability, especially of mind, are key attributes of Gemini.
The sun is only one part of a birth chart and for a full picture we would need to draw up a birth chart for the time and place of your birth. I’m happy that you live only the positive attributes of Gemini but beware creating a ’shadow’ out of your opposite sign, Sagittarius. How are you with your goals? Do you consistently meet them or are you forever making plans and counter-plans, reaching goals in your head but not in your life? Are you living in touch with your spirit or wandering off-course in a land of abstract ideas? I’m not saying you are, but it’s a risk with an overdeveloped ‘Gemini’ side. If you do want a birth chart, I currently do a 4/5 page interpretation for £19.99 which includes a colour chart (due to go up to £30 from December due to my radio appearances). Let me know if you do.
